Child and Nature - cooperative games for children
Save The Whales
The art, the cooperative game concepts and the challenge have made this our most requested board game since we invented it in 1978. Here in the spirit of kinship with Nature, players work together to “save” 8 great whales: Bowhead, Fin, Blue, Gray, Humpback, Right, Sperm and Orca. Meanwhile, oil spills, radioactive waste and catcher ships are moving these great whales toward extinction – just as in real life. Players earn “survival points” and make group decisions to save the whales. Misjudgments or a string of bad luck may cause the ship to catch a whale – always a sad event. The game is realistic, highly educational and provides an hour’s worth of fun. Children love to hold the shiny, cast metal whales and learn their names. 2 - 4 players (and even more can play), ages 8 (but middle school age is best) to adult. Invented by Ken and Jannice.
