Play and Learn American Sign Language. Join the silent and expressive world of sign language. Wouldn’t it be interesting (and thoughtful) to be able to communicate with someone who is hearing impaired? Here is an educational game in which you learn through play. There are 6 games in one – some can be played alone and some are for four or more players. In addition to learning the alphabet and numbers, you learn up to 60 words from different categories including Animals (bird, cow, etc.), Food (apple, bread, etc.), Feelings (happy, afraid, etc.), People (boy, baby, etc.), Colors (green, blue, etc.) and Actions (dance, play, etc.). Players hold graphic flash cards which illustrate the basic finger, hand and arm moves. Basically, players attempt to match cards and sometimes using a decoder to correctly identify the sign. The key to the game is also trying to remember what words you learned. As an added feature, a DVD is included showing children demonstrating the signs. Ages 7 and up. Remember the adage, “Silence is golden”. Selected as a Dr. Toy 10 Best Socially Responsible Toy.
